Who makes a good Porto Lead?

Location

Most of the role can be done from anywhere, mostly phone calls and remote meetings.

At least one co-lead needs to be on-site during the event to keep on top of any in the moment issues.

Schedule

Biweekly meetings throughout Planning Season (January-July).

Other responsibilities are mostly asynchronous communication that can be done whenever you want, as long as you hit deadlines.

Aligning with vendors and getting contracts in place is a major part, but it can be tricky if the outlook of the event is shifting around the time of planning. Vendors like to book these dates months in advance.

Experience

Business relationship management is a plus. Some knowledge of the event would also be a plus, but if a volunteer is coming with knowledge of a different burn that would be transferable.
