Gate Volunteer Instructions

Hey, thanks for helping make Firefly happen! Your mission at Gate is to keep things flowing smoothly by assisting our Security staff with the check in process. You’ll be the first face incoming Fireflies will see!

How to Gate: tl;dr version

1. Grab a colored clipboard along with a parking pass and sharpie
2. Say hi to the car and have the driver shift into park
3. Put the clipboard’s corresponding color/number card under the windshield wiper
4. Have the driver fill out the parking pass
5. Collect IDs from everyone (Minors/under 18 don’t need ID but do need parent/guardian to fill out a waiver)
6. Clip the parking pass to the front of the clipboard, put IDs inside the clipboard, and bring to Security; if there are paper waivers, also bring these
7. Security will take a photo and stamp the parking pass, check folks in, and then hand you back the clipboard with IDs, wristbands, and parking pass inside
8. Tie wristbands on the right wrist (or ankle). The square knot is your friend!
9. Have the driver put the parking pass on their dashboard
10. Take the colored card off the windshield and put it back with its clipboard
