Radio Lead Responsibilities
- Communicate with cores about their radio needs
- Ensure that the contract with the company we rent radios from is negotiated early
- Ensure the radios make it to Firefly
- Generate documentation
Who makes a good Radio Lead?
Location
It's helpful for Radio Leads to live in New England.
Schedule
Early planning season (January-March): Few hours a week in January-March to contact the Rental company and respond to other Core emails/questions
Mid planning (April-May): Several hours in preparing documentation, labels, and logistics of getting the equipment to site.
At the event: they will need EA/"Super EA" to be sure to prep the Radios before all other volunteer cores are setup to ensure there are comms channels while the site is being setup.
After the event: they will need to ensure that all Radios are inventoried and accounted for, as well as the return of said equipment.
Experience
Burn experience is not required.
